What does men's skin need between 18 and 25 years old?
Men's skin evolves with age, and with it, the needs for its care and for acting to delay premature aging also change.
Between 18 and 25 years old, the highest testosterone levels are reached, stimulating the activity of the sebaceous glands, so in this age range, sebum production is very high, favoring pore obstruction, with the possible appearance of pimples, redness, or inflammation.
In this age range, the skin maintains almost intact its ability to produce collagen and elastin, which makes the skin appear firmer and more resilient. However, from the age of 25, this production begins to progressively decrease, and this is when the first fine lines usually appear, especially around the eyes.
These two factors —high fat production and maximum regenerative capacity— set the priorities for facial care between 18 and 25 years of age.
1. Cleansing: the basis of everything
Soap is not enough. Proper facial cleansing is essential to remove dead cells, dirt, pollution, and excess sebum. Thoroughly cleansing and unclogging pores helps prevent the appearance of pimples, redness, and inflammation, and very importantly, allows active ingredients to penetrate the skin and achieve their effect. It is advisable to perform a facial cleanse in the morning and at night. A good facial cleanse already changes the appearance of the skin. Qwadrum's facial cleansing gel is the Active cleansing gel.
2. Anticipate aging (without obsession)
As you approach 25, it is advisable to start taking care of more delicate areas like the eye contour. Using specific products with active ingredients that stimulate collagen and elastin production, along with antioxidants and moisturizers, helps delay the appearance of the first fine lines and achieve a more rested look. Qwadrum's eye contour cream (Flash-acting eye contour cream) includes 14 active ingredients to hydrate, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce bags, dark circles, and provide luminosity and a radiant appearance to the eye contour area.
3. Shaving also counts
Shaving is a constant aggression for the skin. Therefore, using a good aftershave product that soothes, repairs, hydrates, and protects the skin is key to keeping it healthy and balanced after shaving. Qwadrum offers an aftershave balm with active ingredients to repair, soothe, hydrate, and also act against skin aging: Anti-aging aftershave balm.
4. Sunscreen: the great forgotten
And, last —but not least—, daily SPF50 facial sunscreen. It should be light and non-comedogenic so as not to clog pores. Solar radiation is one of the main causes of premature skin aging, even at early ages.
The Qwadrum team is developing a very fluid and light sunscreen to add this new product to the line.
Taking care of your skin between 18 and 25 years old allows you to have blemish-free, healthy, radiant skin, and lays the foundation for healthy skin in the future.
