What does men's skin need between 18 and 25 years old?
Men's skin evolves with age, and with it, the needs for its care also change, as well as the actions taken to delay premature aging.
Between 18 and 25 years old, testosterone levels reach their highest, stimulating the activity of the sebaceous glands. Therefore, in this age range, sebum production is very high, promoting pore obstruction, with the possible appearance of pimples, redness, or inflammation.
In this age range, the skin maintains almost intact its ability to produce collagen and elastin, so the skin looks smoother and more resilient. However, from the age of 25, this production begins to progressively decrease, and this is when the first fine lines usually appear, especially around the eyes.
These two factors —high oil production and maximum regenerative capacity— define the priorities of facial care between 18 and 25 years old.
1. Cleansing: the basis of everything
Soap is not enough. Proper facial cleansing is essential to remove dead skin cells, dirt, pollution, and excess sebum. Thorough cleansing and unclogging pores help prevent the appearance of pimples, redness, and inflammation and, very importantly, allow active ingredients to penetrate the skin and achieve their effect. It is advisable to perform a facial cleansing in the morning and at night. A good facial cleansing already changes the appearance of the skin. Qwadrum's facial cleansing gel is the Active cleansing gel.
2. Anticipating aging (without obsession)
As you approach 25, it is advisable to start caring for more delicate areas such as the eye contour. Using specific products with active ingredients that stimulate collagen and elastin production, along with antioxidants and moisturizers, helps delay the appearance of the first expression lines and gives a more rested look. Qwadrum's eye contour cream (Flash-acting eye contour cream) includes 14 active ingredients to hydrate, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, reduce puffiness, dark circles, and provide illumination and a radiant appearance to the eye contour area.
3. Shaving also counts
Shaving is a constant aggression for the skin. Therefore, using a good after-shave product that soothes, repairs, moisturizes, and protects the skin is key to keeping it healthy and balanced after shaving. Qwadrum offers an after-shave balm with active ingredients to repair, soothe, moisturize, and also act against skin aging: Anti-aging after shave balm.
4. Sunscreen: the great forgotten
And last —but not least—, daily facial sunscreen SPF50. It should be light and non-comedogenic to avoid clogging pores. Solar radiation is one of the main causes of premature skin aging, even at early ages.
The Qwadrum team is developing a very fluid and light sunscreen to add this new product to the line.
Caring for the skin between 18 and 25 years old allows for blemish-free, healthy, radiant skin, and lays the foundation for healthy skin in the future.
